Meet at the Chimney parking lot in Wolfville at 9:45 for a 10am departure. (Take Exit #11 at Greenich, then at the lights, turn right and go back about 2ks to Wolfville, take the left by Coffee Merchant, the Chimney is the first parking lot on the right. Allow about 70 minutes to drive from HRM.)
We will head back on #3 to Maple, go up over the "ridge" and down into the beautiful Gaspereau River Valley, out to Oak island, across the #103 to Horton for coffee and snacks at "Just Us" - the original outlet, then slide across the salt marshes (below sea level) to the beautiful Evangeline Beach. We will then work our way back by trail (old DAR railbed) to Mucktown - er, renamed Wolfville after the well known Wolfe family.
Bring a lunch or snacks, as we will fuel up at several stops along this very pleasant piece of both the entry to the Valley and a prime piece of Nova Scotian history. You may also choose to dine in Wolfville at rides end or the new restaurant in Port Williams (Port). This ride is generally flat to gently rolling, with one climb (3 minutes only) when leaving Wolfville. There will be lots of regroups for scenic views, garden markets and socializing. Adult guests are welcome to attend - ride distance is about 42ks, hybrid bikes are recommended, but one could take a road bike and do an extra 3 or 4 k by avoiding the trail at the end.
